Despite my knee injury, I was able to cook a little jam this past week. I’m excited about the results. I had wonderful blackberries from Haydon Farms and made a mess more of that. I also made my first apple butter of the season, using Shamrock Apples from Tiny’s Organic, its great. I found golden raspberries at Younquist farms and made some golden raspberry jam with cinnamon.
Most importantly, I gave in, and bought expensive figs at Whole Foods and made fig jam with Vanilla. Only seven jars, and it tastes wonderful. I imagine that after I post this I’ll get calls from relatives asking me to save them some. I’m not making any more, I can’t afford the figs, so if you want some, find me this weekend.
